It's A Boy! Welcoming a Baby Spared from Abortion

It was only back in March when Austin and I met Daneshia. (previously we used the alias “Dakota” for privacy, but she gave permission to use her real name) She cancelled her abortion appointment, walked with me to the pregnancy resource center, and a couple days later told me she was keeping the baby. Two weeks ago, we took her shopping for baby supplies with the money several gave specifically to help her with this little one.  

Daneshia was due on 10/15 but in the early morning on 9/15/19 her water broke. A few hours later baby Dreden was born! One month early, he weighed 7lbs. 3oz. and was 19” long. Austin and I just met little Dreden at the hospital. I wish you could have been there! He has a full head of soft, dark, curly hair, and is just perfect. 
 
God is so good! I’ve prayed for several years that I would get to hold and meet a baby that God spared from abortion through our work. 

Today He said yes to that prayer and I am in tears.

God is using you, my support team, to make all of this happen. Thank you! I am currently scheduling fundraising trips throughout this next spring semester. When I heard the news of Dreden’s birth, I was on the road back to Ohio from a week of outreach in Texas, where we just finished up our first week of the fall Road Trip For Life. We joined Michael Lockwood’s (one of our former interns) pro-life group at the University of Texas – Dallas for an outreach there, and then stopped at several campuses throughout Houston as well as the democratic debates at Texas Southern University. 
104 people that we know of, changed their minds on abortion during the week, and the gospel was shared with many.

A Crazy Week in Washington

“…And such were some of you.” I Cor. 6:11 These words went through my mind, and I turned away from the rest of our team as tears began to drip down my face. I was thinking of how merciful God has been to me, the redemption I have experienced, and how lavishly He has poured out His grace on me.  This took place while our team was in D.C. at the Women’s March on Washington. After a turbulent day of outreach, we were heading out and our group had stopped to let the rest of our team catch up with us. As I looked across the masses, one thing that they all had in common struck me: they were all hurt and without hope of healing.  It started to make sense: their anger, violence, and hatred. They are a lost people, reacting to their wounds in the only way they know how. Christ is our healer, and people without Christ are also without healing. December 2016 - Reflection

This month I have been reflecting over what has happened in 2016, and the best word that comes to mind is: blessed . I’m blessed with an amazing family. I’m blessed with a job that I am not only passionate about, but also one that I love. I’m blessed with like-minded colleagues who love each other – they really have become some of the best friends I have. I am blessed with a Godly team of friends who stand with me, pray for me, and donate to support my work. I am humbled. Back in December of 2015, God was preparing my heart to move away from home to Columbus to do His work with Created Equal. Since then I have grown so much personally--in my walk with God, in my faith, in my ability to defend my beliefs, and many other ways.
