"Pro-Life Youth Share Horror Stories" - Our Time in Washington

Image
Hey! It's Rachel again. Of course, you already knew that because I'm the only one writing this blog. Once every month I'll share an update that's more formal, but as I can, I'll also write whatever has been happening or something that is on my mind.  If you read these regularly, you can tell what is a regular update and what is a informal post. This is the latter.  Last week I talked to a friend who wanted to know how our week in Washington was. I didn't know where to start.  Then I read a great article (click on the title below) that shared stories from myself and 5 of my colleagues: A ‘male feminist called me a piece of s***’: pro-life youth share horror stories from Women’s March “The feminists I saw … both male and female, rejected both of the virtues belonging to their respective sexes,” he said. “I saw women yelling shrilly at others, calling them nasty names and one even [attempted] to sexually assault my colleague. [I saw] women who had no respec...

“I TRIED to change her mind, but it was YOU who did!” A Young Mother Chooses Life!

“I TRIED to change her mind, but it was YOU who did!” On Friday, January 5 th , my colleagues and I were at the local abortion facilities in Columbus, reaching the women going inside. It was a painfully cold morning! At “Founders Women’s Health Center,” one of Columbus’s two surgical abortion facilities, a couple of ladies pulled in the parking lot. They did not get out of the car, but sat in their vehicle - apparently getting ready to head inside the facility where one precious preborn child would be violently torn apart in her mother’s womb, never leaving there alive. My colleague and friend Joseph, our Operations Officer, began talking to the young girl in the passenger seat. The ladies opened the doors of the car to hear Joseph better, even though the weather was so cold.  Joseph began to appeal to her for the life of her preborn child – telling her about the beauty of the life inside of her, how the abortionist’s forceps would end this innocent life, of...

Changing Hearts and Minds In 2017 - Giving Glory To CHRIST!

"Created Equal demonstrates the actions of abortion that many are afraid to face...  I regret my abortions, but I do not regret that Created Equal will continue to demonstrate those persons who are being killed." - Katherine I want to express my gratitude to you for your support this past year. I could tell you story after story of students who have changed their minds after seeing the victims of abortion and being presented with a concise case against abortion by someone on our team.  Your support enables these conversations to take place, and minds to be changed.  I need your help in reaching my financial goal! There are just a couple days left to get your tax deductible donations in for 2017.  Will you give so that I can continue to show the truth of abortion and change the culture on abortion? Your gift of $25, $50, or $100 will help me to be able to continue working full-time on behalf of the preborn in 2018. You can donate online...

“I’m telling her about Created Equal, who helped save her life.”

Baby Monica. Read more about her story and others HERE After months of praying for “Tracy,” and her preborn baby “Monica,” who was almost killed by abortion, it brought tears to my eyes to read this message we received from Monica’s grandma: “I had the honor (and major heart tug) of wheeling her [Monica] down to her adoptive parents when she was only an hour old. The Holy Spirit was SO present in that room when I handed mom her new baby and the things that were said made the 3 nurses who went with me sob, in a good way! I’m writing her a letter and I’m telling her about Created Equal who helped save her life. God Bless all of you! Now go get ‘em at the schools, boy do they need you! Much love!” -Monica’s Grandma  A volunteer Jacqueline, listens in to my conversations as she learns how to respectfully create dialogue with the opposing viewpoint at Ohio State University. Tracy was being abused and threatened by Monica’s father. Thinking abortion was her o...

Curing Misconceptions About Abortion

Image
“ Thank you for clearing it up, because there were a lot of misconceptions I had about abortion .”   – Travis, Eastern Kentucky University Bystanders see what abortion does to the preborn babies on our JumboTron TV while they overhear our conversations. Travis first said he was kind of indifferent on the issue of abortion. I was able to share some information with him, and ask if he had any questions.  “I think you’re really starting to clear up everything about it… you covered it pretty good.”   As we shook hands and he walked away, he said:  “ Thank you for clearing it up, because there were a lot of misconceptions I had about abortion.”  My colleague Sam winsomely draws protesters in conversation everywhere we go – he’s like a magnet for our opposition – and they listen! This month I joined our travelling team on the road in Kentucky for three days, and had some great conversations. I know many of you are not able to join us during an out...

A Life Mourned

11-year-old Favour Agu Dear Favour, I wonder how your parents are doing. I wonder what would have happened if you had waited for the walk light. I wish I could have done more to help, though I know you were probably gone when I first saw you. Did you ever know your Creator, the God of the universe, and Jesus Christ, His Son? I hope so! Do your parents know Him? If not, I pray they will. I wish I had a chance to talk to them. My sister’s best friend was also killed in an accident when she was 11. I know that a tragedy like your family has dealt with has no quick resolution, though I also know how powerfully the peace of God and His comfort works in the lives of His children.  Love and prayers for your family, Rachel Burkey -------------------------------------------------------------------- On September 22nd, 2016, a middle school boy named Favour Agu was hit and killed as he ran into traffic crossing the street towards his school. The above note is what I wrote to leav...
